In 1969, Jim Burns of Burns London Ltd. joined forces with Bob Pearson, an ex-VOX employee. Pearson at the time had been working on prototype-guitar bodies with Beatle, John Lennon. The union of Burns and Pearson produced a range of innovations under the Hayman banner.
The Hayman "1010" design was reminiscent of a Burns Vista Sonic crossed with a Fender Telecaster. Its body, made of Honduran Mahogany, featured circuitry similar to a Fender Stratocaster. This model was very popular in Britain & Europe.
Notable players of this model are English Glam-Rockers like Marc Bolan of T-Rex and Noddy Holder & Dave Hill of Slade.
