The Magnatone Mark IV was a through neck, semi-hollow bodied electric guitar designed for Magnatone by the Legendary Paul Bigsby. The Magnatone Mark IV exhibits all the signs of a great amplifier company attempting to make guitars for the first time with highly predictable and incredible results.
The Mark IV originally came with a trapeze tailpiece, like the one featured on this page, but along the way, it was retrofitted with a Bigsby vibrato, making it sort of a bastardized version a Mark V model. This guitar has a great-look with an amazing-sound and a very interesting Bigsby pedigree to boot. On its own merit, it's a truly unique example in American and Southern Californian guitar history.
The body is 14-1/4 inches wide, 2-1/2 inches thick, 19 inch body length and 41 inches overall. The body is made of hollowed-out choice Mahogany. These features give the Mark IV its perfect balance. It's very light-weight.... but feels like a full sized guitar.
